Mike McGee is the co-founder of Code Academy, an 11 week intensive program in Chicago that teaches people from all over the world how to program Ruby on Rails. Mike and his co-founder had the opportunity to join the software development team for Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign, but turned down the offer to start Code Academy.
In this interview, Mike and I chat about:
- why Mike chose Code Academy over joining the President’s team
- creating the builder’s movement
- why Code Academy was started
- the importance of teaching people to code
- and much more!
