Lindsay Saewitz is the founder of CitySwam, a company that organizes social, cultural, and recreational events for young people in Chicago. CitySwarm isn’t a traditional tech company and Lindsay isn’t the type of traditional tech-oriented founder I usually interview here. But Lindsay is a sole founder handling all aspects of her company, including producing an average of 4 events a month, and over 30 events in her first year of business.
I wanted to learn more about the advantages and disadvantages of being a sole founder from Lindsay and her experience. In this interview, Lindsay and I chat about:
- the advantages and disadvantages of being a sole founder
- the importance of staying level headed through it all
- the importance of having mentors and advisors
- and much more!
