On the morning of the day he was to be given an award by Crain’s Chicago Business, Centered Chef founder Ryan Hutmacher had to shave in the shower with a lantern. His power was cut off because he had no money to pay the bill.
He’s come a long way since that day and recently opened his brick-and-mortar culinary studio space in downtown Chicago. In this interview, Ryan and I chat about his overcoming the obstacles of entrepreneurship, how he works to constantly keep his business relevant in the media, and how he overcame the failure he felt that day his power was cut off.
